As Nelson Mandela once said, “it
always seems impossible until it’s done”. Nelson Mandela acted upon what he
said, as he was able to stop the policy of apartheid. Life for “non-whites” was
not easy; they were given the worst: homes, education, and healthcare. He was
able to terminate this unreasonable policy by protesting and convincing many
countries to put sanctions on South Africa. Thereafter he became president and
changed many laws and after his recent death he left a legacy for all. One of
the legacies that he left was that you’re never too old to do anything as he
became the president at the age of 75. Another that he left was that no matter
what race you are, you should be free and have the freedom of speech, have the
freedom of controlling their actions. Nelson Mandela left us a legacy that will
never be forgotten.
Nelson Mandela’s
presidency was one of the most marvelous elections that took place on this
planet. At the age of seventy five he became president and before his
presidency he was jailed for 27 years. Most people don’t have much strength to
do much after being jailed. But Mandela was man of strength and still pursued
in having peace between all races in South Africa. Not only did he become
president after being jailed for 27 years he was 75 and some people at this age
can hardly walk yet he can run in entire country at this age. Mandela is a
truly a man of muscle.
Freedom is a
something that everyone should have, but unfortunately some people in this
world don’t have it. Nelson Mandela tried to carry out a mission for all
“non-whites” in South Africa. He succeeded in doing this by protesting and
convincing many countries in putting sanctions on South Africa. This is not
something that took 2 or 3 years, this mission was over a course of 44 years.
44 years is a very long time but Mandela did not give up at all. He may have
gone to jail but he stood up right back up and continued his mission of
freedom.
Nelson Mandela
left a legacy for us all. He erased the “im” in impossible by stopping the
unlawful policy of apartheid. Though being jailed for 27 years and 75 while
becoming president and pursuing a mission of freedom for “non-whites in” South
Africa, he was a hero to us all.
